I purchased the green and maroon stuff sacks because they were as close to a "tactical" color as was offered. I purchased them to keep my skivvies, socks, etc organized in my suitcase for trips. I wanted to see how well they did crammed inside of a suitcase before I use them in my pack for hiking and camping trips. I have used them both once so far and I am pleased with how they have done. The material is thick enough and the stitching is strong enough to hold your stuff in the sack. The plastic buckles on the outside that holds the straps in place when the unit is compressed, do exactly what they are supposed to do. Foul weather applications will require the use of a garbage bag in order to keep your stuff dry.

I have had the small yellow stuff sack for almost 2 years now and it is holding up far better than the house brand stuff sacks from the big co-op retailer. This was also one-third the cost on clearance at Gander Mtn. The yellow end caps get a little dingy and the grey straps show dirt, but hey, I drop it in the dirt all the time when I pull my tent out of it and it rides on my motorcycle often so it gets a few bugs on it. It looks like new after being run through my front-loading washer on cold. The three best features of this bag are the nearly bomb-proof cloth, the good heavy stitching, and the quick release buckles. The buckles save time and frustration when putting the cap on - whereas fixed straps end up twisted and or crossed over one another. This bag isn't for weight-weenies. It's heavy duty and will last. It's still one of the top 3 best buys in my camping kit.
