  Tent surpasses my excpectations in all aspects. Would be nice if they used aluminum poles and stakes to lighten the weight. Perfect for the solo camper, holds up to the elements and no issues with condensation. Switching to aluminum stakes will lighten the load a little. Would recommend to anyone.

  I love my Trail Tent 2 tent. It's great for me and my best friend Bandit my 1 y/o cocker spaniel we boat camp and fish so we go out all night and hang out together. Easy to pitch and he can't wait to get in and get all cozy in my sleeping bag.. The single door is ok but do wish it had two doors or at least a doggie door for him. I also have the 4 man and its sleeps two adults and 2 dogs just fine. The family spent 3 nights in it and had no problems. keep the great product coming

  I cannot claim to be any sort of expert on tents, or much of anything else. However, a very close uncle once said to (my then girlfriend and now wife) "if Chad desire to know something, he'll soon learn all there is to know of a subject". That is not necessarily a compliment. However, regarding tents, I got a motorcycle camping bug a few years ago and the first tent I bought was a Slumberjack 2 person tent. I've used it a few times now, with a footprint, and for the dollar, it is absolutely one of the better buys. Mine has sat on a ridgeline in the Smokies during a late fall thunderstorm ('cus I was stupid) and took the gusts and steady winds just fine with two guys, and sat in water 4" (four) inches deep - and I have the pictures - with no collapse and no leaks. I am impressed. There is plenty of room for a motorcycle camper, lots of ventilation with the mesh netting, fairly easy set up (quick) and the footprint is spot on for the floor (highly recommend). I had my first set up on the windy ridgeline - stupid, but I did it - and no collapse at all during quite heavy winds (I did not sleep much being fairly new to the concept). The only complaint I have with the two person tent is the single door - they should add the second door and if buying I would instead buy the three man with two doors. I now own a USMC combat tent, as well as a mountain 4-season tent - and am eyeing a few other things much to my wife's dismay. I am not getting rid of the SlumberJack - it simply works and it is quite workable and recommended for backpacking (which I now do) and motorcycle camping. The netting is really great for summer, and the tent does OK for windy winter. I think I made a really good buy for the money and features, especially compared to the plethora of choices available (at a very wide price swing).

  I have used this tent twice and so far it has worked great!I am not surprised though.slumberjack has always produced quality gear at an affordable price....a rare combination in this day and age.you won't be disappointed with this tent for the price.

  I bought this tent for a 3 day camping trip. The weather quickly turned bad and what started out as freezing rain, quickly turned into a heavy wet snow. The Trail Tent 2 performed as well as or better than tents costing twice as much or more. It was interesting watching expensive tents collapse from the wait of the heavy snow, and ice while my Tail Tent carried the weight with ease. A little shaking of the rain fly and the snow and ice slid right off. I stayed dry the entire three days that I camped. Setup was very easy, although the instructions could be better. Weight wise at 6 lbs I would not consider the Trail Tent 2 a Hiking Tent. There appears to be an area for a gear lof,t although there is none supplied (Would be a plus if Slumberjack adds one in the future). Other recommendations would be Aluminum Tent Poles and Stakes. I think two adults would be a bit uncomfortable in the Trail Tent 2, but this would be a perfect tent for Boy Scouts to consider, especially at this price. I was able to fit my cot inside with enough room for my gear. The rain fly design is very good and the vestibule space was far more than I needed, it was nice to be able to get my boots off with out getting snow and mud in the tent a pleasure. The design of the fly also allows for great air circulation. I'm giving the Trail Tent 5 stars, because the tent earned every one after surviving a weekend that it was not designed for. Again I think aluminum poles and stakes along with a gear loft would be a great improvement to an already great tent
