Ryan's Venison Chili

SJK's own Ryan Bertrand created this delicious chili recipe - try it for yourself and you'll be hooked!

Prep Time: 10-15 Minutes | Cook Time: 1 hour | Yields: 3-4

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground venison (or other wild meat)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 green peppers, chopped
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 16-oz cans diced tomatoes (do not drain)
  • 2 16-oz cans red kidney beans, (drained)
  • 1 16 oz can tomato sauce
  • 6 teaspoons chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  1. Cook meat
  2. Sauté onion in pan
  3. Cook/ Sauté garlic
  4. In a large pot, combine cooked meat, onions, garlic, then add all seasonings
  5. Add tomato sauce, green peppers, beans
  6. Simmer for an hour on med low
  7. Top with your favorite garnish, and enjoy!
